The final battle
The ancient evil Taisui is the last enemy. Dongfang Qingcang lets it possess him on purpose so he can trap it inside his own “sea of heart”. That is also where Xiao Lanhua, now restored as the goddess Xiyun, has left her power.
The sacrifice
For a moment her power brings back his consciousness, and he asks her to kill him so that Taisui is destroyed with him. He vanishes and leaves her only a crescent-shaped jade.
Five hundred years later
Xiao Lanhua refuses to let go. For about 500 years she nurtures the trace of his spirit inside the jade until he returns, and the two are finally together.
Everyone else
Changheng steps down as God of War to live as a mortal. Rong Hao ends the suffering of the corrupted Chidi Nüzi. The two special episodes revisit Lanhua and Qingcang’s life together after the finale.
